答えはが quit または left、が retired になる。「辞職する」という意味で resign
があるが、形式ばった表現なので口語ではあまり使われない。
　◆She resigned from her job for personal reasons.　
　　　彼女は一身上の都合で仕事を辞めた。

leave　辞職する、学校を退学する　
quit　辞める、学校を退学する（口語的）
